MONTREAL — McGill tops all other Canadian Universities in the quality of education it provides, and is listed 19th in the latest QS World University Rankings.
It's the Montreal school's seventh straight top 25 overall ranking, and it made the top 35 list of schools in Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & Management.
Principal and vice-chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum called it a terrific result that reflects the broad strengths, superb talents and dedicated efforts of the faculty, students, staff and alumni.
Founded in 1821, McGill attracts students from more than 150 countries, almost half of whom claim a first language other than English.
QS World University Rankings was launched in 2004, and for 2010, produced its ratings in association with partners including US News & World Report and Scopus, the Elsevier database.
The rankings have gained broad recognition among students, academics and researchers around the world.
