World’s Most Expensive Riesling

World's Most Expensive Riesling
Riesling, made from a variety of grape bearing the same name and originating in the Rhine region of Germany, is a dry white wine known for its lightness and apple-like aroma. The wine is particularly sensitive to the region in which it is produce and the best Rieslings come from Germany, where they are made with a delicate balance of sweetness and acidity.
The most expensive Riesling in the world was produced by Weingut Keller. Only six double magnums of the wine, G-Max 2009, were made and three of them were kept by the winery’s owner, Klaus Peter Keller. The wine placed first of thirty German grand cru Rieslings at a professional blind tasting held in Berlin in September, 2010, the day before the remaining three were auctioned.
One double magnum of the G-Max was sold for €3,998.40 (US $5,566.57) to an anonymous collector from Luxembourg at the auction.
